Action carried out by a young person that has a beneficial impact on someone else. Activity to develop individual skills is great, but this campaign is about more than that – it is about young people acting in the service of others.
Social action improves young people’s sense of belonging, emotional wellbeing, educational outcomes and career prospects. It also strengthens social bonds between young people and other members of their community.
To double the number of young people participating to over 50% by 2020
There are 8.4 million young people in the UK. Currently only 29% are engaged in youth social action. Many more young people want to be involved. Our goal is to increase the number of quality, meaningful opportunities for young people to participate.
